Cambodia
Arun suor sdei! Welcome to Cambodia.
Cambodia – the successor state of the once powerful Hindu and Buddhist Khmer Empire, which ruled most of the Indochinese Peninsula between the 11th and 14th centuries – is situated in Southeast Asia. This pristine country has beautiful beaches, lush wilds and awe-inspiring temples, like Angkor Wat, sometimes described as the world’s eighth wonder. Recent peace has opened Cambodia to the rest of the world.
In 2004, Coca-Cola Sabco bought a majority shareholding in Cambodia Beverage Company (CBC), expanding its territories into Asia and Indochina.
CBC – which has one production plant with a capacity of 30-million cases in the country’s bustling capital Phnom Penh – was established in March 1993. However, Coca-Cola was first produced in the country as far back as 1958.
CBC employs 298 people.
Since 1993, over US$27-million has been invested in the Coca-Cola business in Cambodia. The CBC team directly services more than 20,000 outlets across the country through the Coca-Cola Distributor Model.
CBC manufactures and distributes the following range of quality beverages:
Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero, Coca-Cola Light, Fanta (available in Orange, Fruit Punch, Pineapple, Lychee and Sarsi flavour), Sprite, Samurai, Crush Sarsi, Schweppes Soda Water, Schweppes Tonic Water and Schweppes Ginger Ale.
Its achievements include the following:
- For the past three years, Cambodia has shown incredible performance. 2008 saw volume growing by 24% over 2007, and NIBT doubling.
- Based on this success, a high-speed canning line and a PET line were introduced, which will significantly strengthen product supply.
Cambodians enjoy beverages from the Schweppes Group, Coca-Cola, Coke Light, Coke Zero, Fanta, Sprite and Samurai.
