Sabai dee! Welcome to Laos.

Laos, the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia, is bordered by Burma, China, Cambodia and Thailand. Steeped in tradition, its history dates back to the Kingdom of Lan Xang (Land of a Million Elephants), which existed from the 13th to the 18th century. After a period as a French protectorate, it gained independence in 1949. A long civil war ended in 1975 and the country, with its pristine environment, preserved cultures, and warm, laid-back people, has since become a popular travel destination.

In 2004, Coca-Cola Sabco acquired the bottling and distribution rights for Laos, a country which to date has no bottling operations. Franchise rights were granted in 2004 and, since then, Coca-Cola Sabco has been working on developing appropriate infrastructure in the country, which will include a bottling plant in the country’s capital Vientiane.

Coca-Cola beverages are currently imported from neighbouring Coca-Cola Sabco territories.
